Spy found 300 active cell connections at strike site
Hyderabad: It was not only the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror factory in Balakot whose pictures were picked up by the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO).
Thereafter, NTRO was able to get satellite pictures of many government offices including Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s office and other Army establishments.
“A few days before the air strikes were launched and executed with precision, satellite pictures of Imran Khan’s office and residence (post Pulwama attack), their Army establishments and other data, was on the table in the war room, where strategies and counter strategies for taking out terrorists was being finalised. Such is the advanced technology available with the NTRO that it picked up lot of activity in Islamabad,’’ sources disclosed.
Asked whether there was any specific reason why NTRO snooped upon Pakistan government establishments, the sources replied that “there was nothing specific” adding that the “NTRO’s capabilities are beyond the imagination of the enemy (Pakistan).”
Another official said that the data on Pakistani establishments would obviously help in assessing the situation in Islamabad.
With regard to Balakot terror camp, sources said that no sooner had NTRO confirmed 300 active mobile connections, other Intelligence agencies confirmed more or less the same number, based on intelligence gathered from different sources.
