AP government transfers 39 IPS officers
Vijayawada: Chief secretary Dr K.S. Jawahar Reddy on Saturday issued orders transferring and posting 39 IPS officers of the state. The transfers have come within a day of state government transferring IAS officers.
In the transfers on Saturday, SPs of 12 districts have been changed. New SPs have been appointed to politically important Kakinada, Anakapalli, Konaseema, Eluru, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Manyam, East Godavari, Nellore, Annamayya, Sri Satya Sai, Anantapur and Kurnool districts.
Incidentally, all political parties are focussing their energies on coastal districts, including Visakhapatnam.
Significantly, the state government is appointing new SPs a year before the next assembly general elections are scheduled, so that they get enough time to get a grip of their respective districts before the elections are announced.
Incidentally, clashes and arson had been observed in Konaseema district when houses of minister Pinepe Viswaroop and YSRC MLA Ponnada Satish Kumar had been burnt.
The government is planning to contain any such acts in the coastal region ahead of the elections.
