Mysuru’s dream flight to Bengaluru takes off
Mysuru: As the 72- seater Alliance Air flight touched down at 11.07 am at the Mysuru airport, there was celebration on the ground as it marked the launch of a flight between Mysuru and Bengaluru.
"Except for Tuesday and Thursday, the flight which takes off in Vizag will touch Vijaywada and Bengaluru before arriving in Mysuru at 11.25am," said airport director, Manjunath.
On the return journey, the flight will leave Mysuru at noon and reach Bengaluru at 12.55pm. The inaugural air fare is Rs 1,500 per head for the first week, but the first 36 passengers will travel at a cost of Rs 1365, according to him.
While the passengers from Bengaluru were welcomed with flowers and sweets, Mysuru Kodagu MP, Pratap Simha, Mysuru district minister , G T Devegowda, and tourism minister, Sa Ra Mahesh later flagged off the first flight from Mysuru to Bengaluru.
Mr Simha, revealed that flights to Goa and Kochi would also be launched from Mysuru in a month's time.
"As the Udan flights have entered into a contract for a period of three years, they cannot stop operations for any reason whatsoever," the MP added.
