PK to Resume Poll Campaign from Eluru Today

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is scheduled to resume his second leg of poll campaign on his Varahi vehicle from Eluru on Sunday.

As per his itinerary, he will address a public meeting in Eluru at 5 pm on Sunday. On Monday, he will conduct his Jana Vani programme at 12 noon and accept grievances from people of Eluru Assembly segment. He will interact with party leaders and women at 6 pm.

On Tuesday, July 11, the JS chief will meet party leaders and women of Denduluru Assembly segment at 12 noon. On July 12, he will address a public meeting in Tadepalligudem at 5 pm.

As Pawan Kalyan is scheduled to take out a roadshow and then address the public meeting at Eluru’s Old Bus Stand Centre, the town is abuzz. Party leaders are making all out efforts to ensure that people attend the meeting without facing any difficulties. Flexi banners and buntings depicting party leaders have already been set up all along the route he will take as part of his roadshow.

The JS president’s first leg of AP’s tour from June 14 to June 30 had been quite successful. He announced a series of sops to implement once his party comes to power. He has exposed failures of the ruling YSRC government. He even targeted YSR Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

It is to be seen what strategy Pawan Kalyan will adopt while on the second phase of his poll campaign. Political analysts say it will be better if he focuses more on what he can do for the state if his party is elected to power, instead of casting aspersions and throwing challenges and counter challenges.

AP is already experiencing the pre-poll buzz, especially from Opposition Telugu Desam and Jana Sena leaders even as Jagan Mohan Reddy himself has clarified that his government will rule till the last day of its term. Analysts say Pawan Kalyan must focus on what he has been advocating, like an end to caste rivalry, promoting communal harmony and focussing on developing the state by tapping its natural resources.

On Saturday, Pawan Kalyan held a meeting with members of his party’s various committees at the Jana Sena office in Mangalagiri. He wished that the downfall of ruling YSRC government should begin from erstwhile Godavari districts and spread to all over the state for the benefit of people. He assured party members that they will be duly recognised for their hard work once JS is elected to power.

Jana Sena political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar described the Varahi Yatra as a source of inspiration for many. He called upon party leaders and supporters to work unitedly and win the polls.
