Bhagiratha tops Modi's Telangana visit

Modi launched the phase-I of Mission Bhagiratha at Komatibanda in Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's home constituency Gajwel.

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said launching a string of six development programmes with Central support on a single day in TS, on Sunday, showed a strengthening of the spirit of “cooperative federalism” in the country, wherein both the Union and state governments worked in tandem for the country.

Addressing a public meeting in Gajwel, a high point of his first visit to the state, the PM said despite TS being the youngest state, the government has been successful in fulfilling the aspirations of the people, thereby justifying the creation of the new state. “Today, I had a ‘panch shakti’ darshan by visiting Telangana and launching five programmes signifying the ‘panch shakti’ — like water and light — in the form of irrigation and power projects,” Mr Modi said to loud applause. However, the PM, in effect, launched six projects.
