KCR is anti-TS, KTR hosted CM Jagan: Revanth

Hyderabad: The BRS is seeking to benefit from invoking the past owing to its realisation that it will not get more than 25 seats in the next Assembly polls, said TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy, slamming the Chief Minister for failing to pay homage to Gaddar in the Assembly.

“KCR did not even pay homage to Gaddar in the Assembly despite knowing about his death. I had desisted from saying anything, not to politicise his death,” Revanth Reddy said.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi on Tuesday, he said, “CM KCR and KTR are using the Assembly as a platform for their political ends and failed to discuss issues plaguing the people. They tried to target the Congress by singularly targeting and focusing on me, citing my stint with the TD. While I joined the party after becoming an MLC, KCR was the follower of Chandrababu Naidu.”

Accusing K. Chandrashekar Rao of taking stands inimical to the interests of Telangana, he said, “When KCR was part of TD, by seeking abolition of GO 610 and zonal system in the Assembly in 1996, his stands were antagonistic to Telangana interests. KTR should listen to what KCR had said then again. KCR himself, on June 13, 2014, had said that statehood was made possible only because of Sonia Gandhi. Despite being a colleague of Chandrababu Naidu, I had never compromised in my commitment to Telangana and had, in 2011, stopped the speech of the Governor and was suspended from the Assembly.”

“I had spoken elaborately on how Telangana had been wronged for 54 minutes on January 24, 2014. I had sought a state, including Hyderabad, and explained how injustice was meted out in the Upper Sileru and Lower Sileru projects. I had never compromised and spoken against the interests of the region in my 24-year career. It was KCR who aligned with the TD and Congress at various points,” he said.

“How can KCR question me after including the leaders who had spoken against Telangana in his party? Did he not host AP CM at Pragathi Bhavan? None can match KCR in being a chameleon and Telangana society will not believe the message that I am against its interests,” the Congress leader said.

The TPCC chief said, “BJP and BRS have become one and we need to fight them strategically. We will fight to fulfil the movement started by him (Gaddar) and fulfil his last wish and aspiration.”

“I challenge KCR, KTR or Harish (Rao) to come for a discussion to the martyr’s memorial on the issues raised by me,” Revanth Reddy said.
