Hyderabad: New ID Cards issued for ex-servicemen
Hyderabad: Ex-servicemen and wives of deceased personnel whose identification cards do not carry the admission number assigned by the defence ministry will have to seek a new ID card in order to avail benefits like scholarships, medical and educational facilities. The Directorate of Ex-Servicemen, Telangana state, is the competent authority to issue the ID cards.
The directorate has issued ID cards in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. “The new cards are mandatory to claim benefits such as property tax exemption, reservation in employment, financial assistance such as education grants for children, hostel fee, marriage grant for two daughters, old age pension, funeral grant,” said Col. P. Ramesh, director, Sainik Welfare, Telangana state.
The white/pink cards have been replaced with colour ID cards issued by the Kendriya Sainik Board, New Delhi.
The next camp will be held at ECHS Polyclinic, care of Military Hospital, Golconda. on September 15th, and the directorate has asked ex-servicemen and widows staying near Golconda to avail the facility.
