Guntur: The students and management of VVIT-Nambur replaced the conventional streetlights in Gollamudi village, Peda Kakani mandal in Guntur district with LED lights to save power.
The VVIT adopted Gollamudi to develop it into a Smart village. Ponnur MLA D. Narendra inaugurated the LED lights at Gollamudi on Saturday.
He said that changing the replacing the conventional streetlights with LED bulbs would save Rs 25,000 in power bill to the village panchayat. VVIT chairman V. Vidya Sagar said that they will start other development works. Gollamudi sarpanch O. Jyothi, village secretary Sk Karimuddin and others were present.
