RTI reply disproves KT Jaleel claim
Kozhikode: Minister K.T. Jaleel has something to hide in the appointment of his cousin as the general manager of the Kerala State Minority Development Finance Corporation (KSMDFC), according to RTI documents.
The minister had stated that his cousin K.T. Adeeb was appointed because there were no qualified hands for the post. But the RTI documents, obtained by Muslim Youth League state general secretary P.K. Firoz, reveal that all the five persons who attended the interview were duly qualified, and one among them is under-secretary in state finance department. MBA and experience was the prescribed qualification for the post and Adeeb has only BTech, PGDBA (Post-graduate Diploma in Business Analytics) and work experience at South Indian Bank.
Adeeb was appointed as the GM on deputation which raises another question how he, who worked in a non-nationalised bank, can be appointed on deputation. “The RTI reply clearly reveals that Adeeb was appointed through nepotism and overlooking meritorious candidates. Jaleel should be prosecuted on corruption charges,” demanded Mr Firoz.
According to the minister’s version, the qualification criterion was revamped as BTech instead of MBA as there was no qualified hands at the interview and that the government had requested Adeep to accept the appointment.
