Poachgate accused Simhayaji out on bail
Hyderabad: The third accused in the MLAs’ poaching case, Simhayaji Swami, was released on bail from Chanchalguda Central Prison here on Wednesday afternoon after he furnished two sureties and a personal bond for Rs 3 lakh.
The court ordered that he will have to appear before the investigating officer of the SIT every Monday between 10.30 am and 12 pm.
Although, the Telangana High Court had on December 1 granted bail to all
three accused, Ramachandra Bharathi, K. Nanda Kumar and Swami, the release was delayed as they failed to furnish Rs 3 lakh bond and two sureties each as directed by the court.
Meanwhile, sources in the police department said that the other two accused, even if released, will be arrested again as they have other cases booked against them.
Reportedly Bharathi’s lawyer Rama Rao had urged the court to reduce the bail amount, as the accused earned a monthly salary of only Rs 22,000.
However, it was opposed by the public prosecutor, who wondered how the accused could could offer Rs 250 crore if that was his salary.
