Andhra Pradesh staff society is not legal
Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy panchayat raj officials have in their report to the Lokayukta said that the layout of Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Cooperative Housing Society at Puppalaguda was illegal and the draft layout was cancelled by the then HUDA due to the irregularities.
The report was submitted by district panchayat officer K. Padmaja Rani following notices issued by the Lokayukta on a case filed by RTI activist P. Suresh on the encroachment on park land in the housing society, .
Ms Padmaja Rani stated that the housing society’s layout was plotted in Surveys No. 61, 62, 64, 65, 67 to 73, 76, 77, 85, 86, 94 and 120 to 126 of Puppalaguda by S. Dhanunjaya Rao on behalf of AP Secretariat Staff Cooperative Soci-ety in 1990. As per the report, the layout was tentatively approved by HUDA on the condition that no plot should be utilised, sold, leased or otherwise disposed of without final approval from the HMDA.
After the public spaces marked in the draft layout are handed over to the local authority, it should be intimated to the HUDA for it to release the final layout.
As per the GO issued on October 12, 1973, on the layout, the society was to leave 5 per cent of the area, totalling to 64.27 acres.
In a report submitted by the then extension officer of the panchayat raj department, it was revealed that Surveys No. 146, 144/e, 5 and 6 of Manikonda village were included in the layout and the draft was suspended. About 400 houses were constructed in the layout. The report said no open place found and that the layout permission fee receipts were not found.
