Madurai: One of the three MLAs who has thrown his weight behind Tamil Nadu caretaker Chief Minister O Panneerselvam is Sholavandan constituency MLA K. Manickam
“Panneerselvam had served as Chief Minister twice in the state at the behest of late CM J Jayalalithaa when she was facing a difficult situation. He is a true loyalist of Amma,” said Manickam in a telephonic interview from Chennai where he was accompanying Panneerselvam in political engagements.
“After the demise of Jayalalithaa all the AIADMK MLAs unanimously elected him as CM to continue the good work of Amma for the welfare of the people,” he said. “I am satisfied with his work,” said the Sholavandan MLA pointing out the special law passed in the assembly for the conduct of jallikattu.
Incidentally Alanganallur, where the world fame jallikattu scheduled on February 10 falls in Sholavandan constituency. Meanwhile, within an hour of Panneerselvam making his shocking revelations to the media on Marina beach, around 12 of his loyalists assembled in Bodinayakkanur town and removed three posters of VK Sasikala’s.
However, in other places in Bodinayakkanur constituency from where Panneerselvam was elected to state assembly, people did not come out openly in his support on Wednesday.
