Kottayam: Save Our Sisters' convention to support nuns
Kottayam: The convention being held by the ‘Save Our Sisters’ forum here on Saturday is meant to support the six nuns of the St Francis Mission home at Kuravilangadu, who agitated against bishop Franco Mulakkal. This was stated by Father Augustine Vattoly, forum convener and dissident priest of the Ernakulam Angamaly archdiocese here on Friday.
He told DC that the forum will resist the moves from some quarters to isolate the nuns.
Mass protests will be organised if there were attempts to weaken the case against bishop Franco Mulakkal, he said.
He demanded the defrocking of Mulakkal as he still remained as Jalandhar bishop. The strike will continue till the survivor nun gets justice, he added.
Earlier, Mar Jacob Manathedath, Apostolic Administrator of the Ernakulam Angamaly archdiocese, had issued a showcause notice to Father Vattoly for participating in the anti- Church activities.
