Hyderabad: Brief rainy spell affects traffic
Hyderabad: Some places in the cith received rainfall on Saturday evening. Most of the rain wsa recorded in Secunderabad. The sky had been overcast since the evening.
According to the rain gauges set up by the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the highest rainfall on Saturday was registered at Pattigadda at 7.8 mm. By 8.30 pm showers were also reported near Marredpally, Secunderabad and Ranigunj.
Officials said that the rain occurred as there is a confluence zone forming over the state. There will be scattered rainfall for 48 hours. The rain triggered massive traffic snarls. The showers albeit brief brought the city down to a standstill. This reporter saw youngsters directing t mes Street. “We had to man the traffic as there was no one doing it,” said Uzair a resident of the Charminar area who come for some work.
