Telangana to see rains in New Year

If the king (CM) was pious, which was the case with TS, people would be happy and the state would prosper, says Mr Santosh Kumar Sastry.

Hyderabad: Bountiful crops, rains, good Centre-state relationship, harmonious life for couples, less divorces, and an advantageous year for women are what’s in store for the state in the coming year. But like the Ugadi Pachadi, there will be problems too, in the education and health sectors.

Apart from the TRS government’s official celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi, Ugadi was also celebrated on Friday in the offices of the Telugu Desam, Congress, BJP, YSR Congress and other political parties.

Ironically, while the predictions were all good at the official celebration, a distressing year for the ruling TRS was forecast in the Opposition functions.

Mr Santosh Kumar Sastry, who read the Panchangam at the government function attended by CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya and others, said if the king (CM) was pious, which was the case with TS, people would be happy and the state would prosper.

KCR to play a key role in the Centre: Santosh Kumar Sastry
“It will be a good year. Bountiful crops, rains, a harmonious year for couples, fewer divorces, a good year for women, a year of entertainment etc. The education and health sectors will face problems including high fees and corruption. On the health side, people should avoid outside spicy non-veg biryani, curry points, stop cattle slaughter and go for veg foods,” Mr Santosh Kumar Sastry said.

Mr Sastry, giving a political touch to his predictions, advised the Endowments department to conduct Varuna Japam and other measures for good rains and success of Mission Bhagiratha and other flagship programmes of the government.“Mr Chandrasekhar Rao will play a key role at the Centre, the financial position of the state will improve and river water disputes will end. There will be peace and tranquility in the state,” he said.

He added: “Red-coloured crops will fetch good returns, iron rates will come down besides of other items. Eclipses will not be visible in the state and hence will have no effects.”

Meanwhile, at BJP the office, the Panchanga Karta predicted a spurt in diseases, disputes between some states and rise in the price of petrol. At Gandhi Bhavan Congress head quarters, political upheaval was predicted, a favourable year for the Opposition, less rainfall leading to farmers’ distress and a spurt in crime. Ugadi was also celebrated with gusto at the Telugu Desam office at NTR Trust.
