Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fury on fans hurting cadre morale
Visakhapatnam: Actor-turned-MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna’s behaviour in recent times has not gone down well with fans and the general public.
Thanks to social media, any act or word of a candidate quickly goes “viral” and can often lead to a backlash. On Monday, several people trolled him for beating up a fan at Cheepurpalli in Vizianagaram district on Sunday during an election campaign.
Even as memories of Nandamuri Balakrishna being mocked for his ‘bul bul’ speech during the recent Telangana State Assembly elections remain fresh in memory, new actions of the actor-turned-politician went viral yet again.
A couple of weeks ago, he threatened to kill a cameraman who was filming his security personnel pushing away children who were trying to get a closer look at the actor. The entire episode was caught on camera, and the video went viral on social media. So great was the backlash, that Balayya had to apologise.
While campaigning in his home constituency of Hindupur, Balayya went berserk lambasting his fans and his party men. Apparently, he was unhappy with the number of votes his fans have been referring to. When party men were hooting that Balayya might get a majority only in thousands, he got angry and used foul language at them.
Another viral moment of Balayya surfaced at Cheepurupalli (Vizianagaram district) on Sunday. The controversial Hindupur MLA reportedly lost his cool, chased and thrashed a TD activist who was trying to get closer to him for a picture. This act was caught on camera!
While this incident is going viral on social media and the actor has been trolled, the party cadre is believed to be apprehensive about Balayya’s deeds.
With the latest video being posted from various twitter handles on Monday, netizens have lashed out at him for his behaviour.
“How can he be with this attitude, see how Balakrishna is publicly beating a fan in Cheerpurupalli of Vizianagaram district, Justice_4Vizag” went one twitter post.
“Due to the mad act of Balakrishna, entire North Andhra will be a washout for Telugu Desam going to lose deposits everywhere in Northern Andhra,” tweeted @jrsreedhar.
Teja Vardhan (@Tej_v3) described Balakrishna as a mentally ill person who is not behaving like a human.
The YSR Congress party on their official Twitter account gleefully shared the video and asked whether the state needs this kind of leader once again.
Such behaviour will impact the Telugu Desam, which is already finding it difficult to retain power.
