Thanjavur: The actor Kamal Haasan-founded ‘Makkal Needhi Maiyyam (MNM)’ will announce its stand on the Cauvery issue after the May 14 hearing by the Supreme court said actor Sripriya Rajkumar here on Tuesday.
Ms. Sripriya, who is working for MNM, told presspersons after taking part in the party’s east zone meeting, that the party had already discussed the Cauvery issue at Madurai and Tiruchy meetings.
A video of party leader Kamal Haasan on the Cauvery issue had already been sent to the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.
“The party will announce its final stand on Cauvery after the May 14 hearing of the Apex court” Ms. Sripriya said.
As the party believed that “Gramiyeme Desiyam (India lives in her villages as Mahatma Gandhi said)” it is creating awareness among people about participating in Gram Sabha meetings, she pointed out.
“Due to our campaign large number of people attended the May 1 Gram Sabha meetings. Our campaign will continue to motivate people to participate in the August 15 Gram Sabha meetings too, Ms. Sripriya added.
