No-Confidence Motion: Revanth Derides Modi Govt

Hyderabad: It was expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would at least respond to the situation in Manipur on the occasion of the international day of tribals. Even though the state is on a boil, the only interest of Modi and Amit Shah are votes, fumed TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.

Participating in the no-confidence motion, filed against the Union government by the I.N.D.I.A. alliance, in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, he said, “The BJP has been pursuing a divide and rule policy for the last nine years. It is bent on pitting one community against the other in their greed for power.”

Modi looks down on tribals. He should seek an apology from the country. The PM and the Union home minister were busy campaigning in Karnataka even as the state was burning. In a befitting backlash, the people of Karnataka packed out BJP lock, stock and barrel. In today’s equations, NDA stands for National Divide Alliance. I call upon Modi to come to the House and issue a statement to boost the morale of the people of Manipur, he said.

Deriding the BJP for spreading what he called falsehood, he said, “The party’s manifesto is loaded with lies. Modi actually stands for one nation one person though he says he wants one nation, one election and one tax. The party has not honoured any of the promises it has made in the past nine years. I support the no-confidence motion.”
