Ooty: The 150th anniversary of the CSI St. Thomas Church, one of the oldest churches in the hills , was celebrated with special high mass on Sunday.
Located amidst sylvan surroundings near the central bus stand here along the southern side of the famed Ooty lake, St. Thomas Church, which reflects the majestic British era architecture, has served to impart spiritual teachings to the generations over the decades. The church offers a good view of the Ooty lake. It was one of the locales for the Oscar-winning film, ‘Passage to India’, based on E.M. Forster's novel by that name.
