Purandeswari seeks CBI probe into AP liquor policy

Visakhapatnam: BJP state president Daggubati Purandeswari met Union home minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Sunday and sought a CBI probe into the liquor sales in Andhra Pradesh for the last four years.

She had discussions with Shah on AP affairs with a particular focus on liquor policy that was pursued during the last four years. She submitted a memorandum in this regard to the home minister.

Recently, she told the media that after examining the sales of a liquor shop at Narsapur in West Godavari district, it was found that out of Rs1 lakh sales, the digital payment was made for only Rs 700. Every day, a major portion of the sale proceeds of liquor was going into the pockets of the ruling party leaders, she alleged. By looting public money, the YSRC government was claiming that it was giving freebies to the people, she said.
