Why AP Needs Jagan Campaign From Today

VIJAYAWADA: The YSR Congress is launching its latest mass outreach programme, ‘Why AP Needs Jagan’, from November 9 to energise the party’s rank and file in preparation for the 2024 assembly and parliament polls.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as YSRC president recently announced the 40-day campaign. It would begin from the mandal level. The mandal presidents and party activists will brief the people on the various welfare schemes and development activities of the YSRC government.

Party teams would reach the doorstep of every home to convey the message. The Chief Minister has asked the party rank and files to actively participate in the programme and mingle with the people to win their support for the YSRC.

Adviser to the government and YSRC general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy formally announced the party’s ‘Why AP Needs Jagan’ campaign at the central party office in Tadepalli on Wednesday.
He said the main aim is to showcase the developmental statistics of AP and take the campaign down to the last mile via an extensive door-to-door contact, so as to “completely bust” the opposition Telugu Desam’s “fake propaganda.”

Emphasizing the remarkable achievements of the YSRC government led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, the adviser stated, “Our party's manifesto was drafted keeping in mind the hopes and dreams of the people during Jagan's Praja Sankalpa Yatra. What we have accomplished during these four and a half years is unprecedented. Now, it is our duty to take the report card of the work done, to the people directly.”

Ramakrishna Reddy said the achievements in the past four and half years, regarding Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate, per capita income growth, government jobs, agriculture and industrial growths, education, new MSMEs and health sector betterment will be highlighted during the programme.

“AP is ranked 22nd in India in terms of GSDP growth rate during Naidu’s term. Now, under CM Jagan’s leadership, AP stands at number 1 slot as per RBI’s 2021-22 report.”

“In 2019, AP was ranked the 17th state in the per capita income and today, the state is among the top 10 states, with its per capita income ranking at 9.”

The adviser explained, “During the five years of the TD government, the total number of government jobs created was a mere 34,108. Jagan Anna's government has, to date, provided 4,93,000 government jobs, out of which 2,13,662 are permanent positions.”

“During the TD term in 2019, AP was at the 22nd slot in industrial growth, according to the RBI count. However, by 2021-2022, under Jagan Anna's government, AP took the 3rd position nationwide.”

The YSRC campaign contains two key stages that include YSRC Sachivalayam Camps and Door-to-Door Outreach.

Ramakrishna Reddy said that under the Sachivalayam Camps, there would be inauguration of Sankshema Pathakalu display boards, YSRC flag hoistings and dinner with influencers. Under the Door-to-Door Outreach, Sachivalayam conveners, Gruha Sarathis and Village/Ward volunteers would initiate a comprehensive door-to-door outreach programme to cover every household in the state.

A report card of the promises fulfilled by Chandrababu Naidu in 2014 and Jagananna in 2019, a Praja Teerpu booklet and a Why AP Needs Jagan booklet with comprehensive development figures, data and information about the achievements of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government will be on offer.
