Congress stalwarts stymie Revanth Reddy’s grand function
Hyderabad: Opponents of Congress MP Revanth Reddy within the state unit had the last laugh when they prevailed upon a biggie like Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot from inaugurating Mr Reddy’s Malkajgiri Parliament camp office, which is slated for Monday.
It appears that bowing to pressure the has cancelled his visit, thereby substantially dashing the hopes of Mr Reddy, who is angling for the TPCC chief post.
It is believed that as soon as senior leaders got wind of Mr. Reddy’s plans, they started raising objections and wondered why he had chosen to set up his office in the city (near his Jubilee Hills) rather than his constituency (that is a quite a distance away). They also stated that when Gandhi Bhavan was very much available for all MPs where was the need for a separate office.
Some party seniors in their private talks went to the extent of wondering whether Mr Reddy was planning to hatch parallel politics. They are worried that if Mr. Reddy lobbies successfully and manages to take command of TPCC, the party prospects may nosedive, sooner than later as it would be a suicidal move.
When Mr Reddy given call to lay-seize of Pragathi Bhavan during the RTC strike and succeeded in reaching the venue, he was targeted by his party leaders, who questioned his unilateral decision.
Some of his close associates disclosed that he has engaged back-end teams in his office for rendering PR exercise and build his image. Mr Revanth Reddy has also set up Social Media and Political Analysis Wings in his new office.
