Show cause notices to 20 defunct junior colleges in AP

Officials Question Non-Operational Status Despite Government Recognition, Warn of Consequences

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education has issued show cause notices to 20 private junior colleges in Visakhapatnam.

In the notice, regional inspection officer R. Satyanarayana has asked managements of these colleges why they are not running their institutions despite having the state government’s recognition.

He warned that the colleges if the colleges do not respond with a satisfactory reply within 15 days.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Satyanarayana identified the colleges as Gayathri V.P. Jr. College, Dwarakanagar; Dr. Jyothi VOC Jr. College, MVP Colony; A.P.S.W.R. Vocational Jr. College For Girls, S.V. Vocational Jr. College, NRI Jr. College, Bhashyam IIT Junior College, Vepagunta; Sri Gayatri Jr. College, Kendriya Vidyalaya Jr. College, Alfa Jr. College, Techno Soft (VOC) Jr. College, Sri Vidya Junior College, Kalidindi Raghu Jr. College, Dakamarri; Arunodaya Junior College, Narsipatnam; Mother Jr. College, Y.D. Peta; Priyadarshini (VOC) Jr. College, Narsipatnam, Prema VOC Jr. College, Narsipatnam, Sri Siva Sai Jr. College, Waddadi; Samyukta Chaitanya Junior College, Pedagantyada; Vagdevi Vocational Jr. College, Araku Valley, and Modha Chaitanya (VOC) Jr. College, Paderu.

Officials have found that owners of these colleges have not been running them for the past two to three years.
