Naidu Gives ₹5,000 and Ration Kit to Each Cyclone-Affected Family
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu criticised Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government for failing to provide assistance to victims of Cyclone Michaung in the Bapatla region.
Continuing his visit of cyclone-hit areas on Saturday, the former chief minister gave ₹5,000 aid and essential commodities’ kit to every family in Yanadi Colony of Bapatla on behalf of opposition TD. He demanded that the state government pay ₹25,000 to each family affected by the cyclone in Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu regretted that the government has so far provided only 25 kg of rice and 1 kg of onions to the affected people. He met families whose houses have remained submerged in water for the past 2–3 days.
Criticising the YSRC government for neglecting people of the area, the TD chief recalled the historical association of Yanadi community with Telugu Desam from the times of legendary actor and former chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh late N.T. Rama Rao.
He said at that time Yanadi community members used to live in clean areas, but are now not getting proper services, health facilities, education and financial help.
The former CM pledged to take responsibility for preparing a plan for comprehensive development of Yanadis, including improving education facilities for their children.
