National Lok Adalat settles 21,574 cases in AP
Vijayawada: National Lok Adalat organised at the AP High Court and district courts on Saturday resolved as many as 21,574 cases throughout the state.
The High Court constituted two benches presided over by Justice Tarlada Rajasekhar Rao and Justice Venuthurumalli Gopala Krishna Rao. Similarly, 386 Lok Adalat benches presided over by judicial officers were constituted in all 13 districts.
Under their guidance, total 21,574 cases, including 4,767 pre-litigation cases, involving an amount of Rs 74.05 crore, were settled till 5 p.m. on Saturday. The High Court of Andhra Pradesh settled 137 cases involving Rs 2.85 crore.
More cases are expected to be settled with the Lok Adalat continuing till late hours.
AP State Legal Services Authority member secretary Babitha said the settlement of cases has been possible with whole-hearted support of advocates, judges, stakeholder departments, their staff and media.
