TD gives financial aid to Vizag harbour fire victims
Visakhapatnam: Opposition Telugu Desam on Friday paid ₹1 lakh to those whose boats had been fully burnt in the November 19 fire accident at the Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour. The party extended ₹50,000 to those whose boats got partially damaged and ₹5,000 to labourers who worked on the boats.
Speaking on the occasion, state TD president Kinjarapu Atchannaidu said whether or not their party is in power, they have always helped the fishermen community, as its members have always supported the Telugu Desam Party.
Visakhapatnam South constituency MLA Gandi Babji underlined that the TD government provided pensions to fishermen aged 50 years and above. The party supported them whenever there had been a cyclone.
