VBS Yatra Helped 38.02 Lakh Get Central Help: Ajay Jain
Vijayawada: Special chief secretary Ajay Jain on Wednesday said Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) in Andhra Pradesh has so far covered 9,836 gram panchayats in 26 districts, apart from 209 urban locations, enabling 38,02,674 people avail various schemes extended by the central government.
Addressing media in Vijayawada, Ajay Jain explained that Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat is a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the outreach activities undertaken by the central government across the country covering all gram and nagar panchayats, in addition to urban local bodies.
AP Governor S. Abdul Nazeer started the Phase 1 of VBSY on November 15 in the two tribal districts of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Parvathipuram Manyam. Phase 2 of the Yatra covered all rural areas in 26 districts from November 25 and will end on January 26. Phase 3 of the Yatra commenced in urban areas on December 7 in Vijayawada and in Visakhapatnam, Anantapur and Tirupati on December 9.
The special chief secretary said 121 vans have been allotted to Andhra Pradesh to cover the rural and urban areas of the state.
During the yatra, Ajay Jain said, all participants undertake a Sankalp (pledge) to make India a developed nation by 2047, when the country will be celebrating 100 years of its Independence.
As part of the VBSY, 51,473 Meri Kahani Meri Zubani events have been held, 32,70,374 people took the Sankalp, and 9,637 Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke programmes have been conducted. 13,852 VVIPs attended the various camps.
The special chief secretary elaborated that 14,01,410 people got screened at the health camps, including 5,27,101 for TB and 83,094 for sickle cell. Further, there have been 80,848 My Bharat Volunteer and 53,947 PMUY registrations for Satat Krishi initiatives, 7,544 drone demonstrations and 8,398 interactions with farmers. Total 1,28,771 awards have been presented to women, 94,894 awards to students, 21,670 awards to local artists and 23,722 awards to sports persons during various events and competitions.
Regarding 100 per cent saturation of schemes, Ajay Jain underlined that 7,786 gram panchayats (GPs) have seen 100 per cent Ayushman card saturation, 1,806 GPs got Har Ghar Jal, 5,745 GPs witnessed 100 per cent digitisation of land records and 623 GPs achieved ODF+ status in Andhra Pradesh.
