Talk with AIADMK MLAs: DMK to Governor
CHENNAI: Opposition leader and working president of DMK M. K. Stalin has sought the Governor to seek trust vote in the state Assembly House and also personally interact with every AIADMK legislator and ascertain what’s on in their minds before he took a call on the issue. Contending that holding the AIADMK MLAs as hostages is against democracy, Mr. Stalin alleged that AIADMK legislators were transported through a tourist bus to a resort and were kept away from public view. As the political situation in Tamil Nadu was very unstable, the Governor should immediately look into the issue.
“The elected representatives of the people being held as hostages is against democracy. After MLA Shanmuganathan escaped from AIADMK camp to extend support to O. Panneerselvam (Chief Minister), it has become doubtful as to whom these MLAs want to side with,” Mr. Stalin emphasised. In light of the aforementioned developments and citing the Supreme Court’s verdict on S R Bommai’s plea, he requested the Governor to take appropriate action.
