Hyderabad: The CBSE Board released the official notification for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Neet) for undergraduate courses for 2018 on Friday. The online application process has started and it will end on March 9. Neet exam will be conducted on May 6.
According to the notification, the Board has made it mandatory for all candidates, except those from Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, and Meghalaya, to enter their Aadhaar details at the time of registration. Candidates can register any time before 11.50 pm on March 9. The online payment of fees must be completed by 11.50 pm on March 10.
Candidates must be 17 years or older at the time of admission, or they must complete the age of 17 on or before December 31, 2018.
The maximum permissible age is 25 years. However, a five-year relaxation on the maximum age has been granted to SC, ST and OBC candidates.
Those with at least 50 per cent marks and having physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English as their subjects are eligible to apply. Students who have studied biology/biotechnology as additional subjects and students who have completed their education at the National Institute of Open Schooling are not eligible.
A candidate can attempt Neet exam any number of times between the ages of 17 and 25 for general category students and between the ages of 17 and 30 for reserved category students.
Students are required to register through the Board website www.cbseneet.nic. Admit cards will be available in the second week of April, and the exam results are expected to be announced by June 5, 2018.
