Visakhapatnam: Mobile health centres for Agency areas
Visakhapatnam: Mobile Health Centres would be run at weekly markets in 11 tribal mandals of Visakhapatnam district in a bid to resolve the communication troublesand fuel shortage in ambulances, said health minister Kamineni Srinivas.
The health minister began a field trip from Anantagiri in Araku on Sunday morning as part of his seven-day visit to all tribal areas in several districts.
Each Mobile Health Centre would have two doctors, nurses and medical equipment, said the health minister.
“In all, 16 tribals lost their lives due to drinking polluted water at Chaparayi in East Godavari district. Such incidents should not reoccur. As the people are prone to communicable diseases and viral fevers in this season, I am visiting the agency areas to know ground situation," the minister said.
The health minister received pleas from tribals over staff shortage and poor medical services during his visit to Araku area hospital and Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in Sunkarametta. Residents of Anthrax-hit Kodipunjulavalasa complained to the minister that were not provided mosquitoe nets.
