Mysuru: Following heavy rains in Wyanad in Kerala, the Kabini reservoir which had filled up several days ago, continued to release a huge quantum of water into the river leading to Tamil Nadu on Monday. With good rains in the Cauvery catchment areas, other reservoirs in the basin too received huge inflow on Monday.
On Monday, Kabini which received as much as 32,635 cusecs released as much as 36,000 cusecs into the river leading to Tamil Nadu. The water level at Kabini on Monday was 2,282.32 feet as against its capacity of 2,284 feet. Last year on the same day, the water level at Kabini was 2,263.60 feet.
At KRS, the water level on Monday was 110.40 feet as against its capacity of 124.80 feet. KRS dam received as much as 22, 437 cusecs, and released 3,499 cusecs into the river. The water level at KRS on the same day in the previous year was 78.05 feet.
The water level in Harangi reservoir which filled up on Saturday stood at 2,857.43 feet as against its capacity of 2,859 feet on Monday. It received an inflow of 11,675 cusecs and released 8934 cusecs into the river leading to KRS. Water level at Harangi on the same day the previous year was 2,832.27 feet.
At Hemavathi, the water level on Monday was 2,909.62 feet as against its capacity of 2,922 feet. The inflow was 8,047 cusecs and outflow was 1,900 cusecs. . Last year on the same day, the water level was 2,871.23 feet.
