Anantapur: College staff booked for beating student
ANANTAPUR: Tense situation prevails since Monday night at Narayana College campus in Anantapur after a group of seniors attacked some juniors and also damaged lights and furniture in the hostel premises.
Further, the college vice-principal and warden reportedly beat up a senior Intermediate student causing further tension as the student organisations staged a protest against the management on Tuesday. The situation came under control only after the police intervened and registered cases against the college vice-principal and warden.
Sources said that the problem started when on Monday, a junior Intermediate student had an argument after a senior scolded him for sitting close to him in the mess. When the junior student objected, a group of seniors damaged the lights and furniture in the hostel premises. The college vice-principal and warden rushed the spot and reportedly beat up the seniors for the tension.
A senior Intermediate student Yeswanth accused the college vice-principal and warden of beating him black and blue. When the issue went viral, student organisations rushed to the spot and demanded action against the college management.
I-Town police rushed to the spot and registered cases against Narayana Junior College vice-principal and warden in connection with the attack on the students.
