HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao's personal secretary shifted
Vijayawada: The state government has become serious on allegations of corruption practices and irregularities in DEO postings.
HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao’s personal secretary M.R.G. Naidu has been withdrawn from the post in this regard. Earlier, Mr Bala Swamy, who was personal secretary to HRD Minister, was withdrawn on such allegations.
A HRD higher official said in-depth investigation is needed as there are serious allegations of corruption practices and irregularities on very respectful persons in the department.
As education is a key department and has been neglected over the time, the issue turned out to be severe allegations impacting the whole department. With this, even the government image is being damaged, he added.
Acting swiftly, CMO officials summoned the HRD Minister’s PS to the CMO without the minister’s notice and told him to leave the HRD Peshi. In addition to this, earlier the PS had skipped attending the important review meeting on hybrid annuity model, an infra development project in educational institutions held in the presence of the chief minister.
The CMO instructed him to shift to infra development project in educational institutions with immediate effect. With this, Mr Durga Prasad, who is currently working as additional PS to the HRD minister, is now given the in-charge PS position.
There are discussions how personal secretaries are becoming scapegoats in the game of irregularities.
Reacting to this, M.R.G. Naidu said he was shifted as Chief Engineer, hybrid annuity model infra project as he had not attended for CM review with hybrid annuity model. He further said he had no connection with the allegations of the DEO postings.
