Ganesh idols immersion procession peaceful in Bhainsa

A boy drowns in Swarna project during immersion

ADILABAD: Lord Ganesha idols’ immersion Shoba yatra (procession) that began on Thursday afternoon has been completed peacefully in communally sensitive Bhainsa town early in the morning on Friday. A heavy police force was deployed in Bhainsa to avoid any untoward incidents.

Ganesh idols’ immersion Shobha yatra began under the banner of Hindu Ustava Samiti in Adilabad town this afternoon.

Meanwhile, a boy, Hari, 14, of Siddanagar colony of Nirmal town, drowned in Swarna project during the Ganesh idol immersion at Siddapur.

In Bhainsa town the Shobha yatra was taken out through the main routes before Ganesh idols were immersed in the Gaddenna project.

Superintendent of police Praveen Kumar, additional SP Kiran Khare, MLA Vittal Reddy, and Hindu Uvstava Samiti, Bhainsa president Vilas Gadewar participated in puja to the idol before starting the Shoba yatra in Bhainsa on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy participated in the Ganesh idols’ Shoba yatra in Nirmal town on Friday. He beat the drums for a few minutes and danced to the drum beats on the demand of the activists and supporters. TRS leaders and cadres participated in large numbers in the Shoba yatra in Nirmal.

Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna, collector Sikta Patnaik and SP Uday Kumar Reddy, additional collector Rizwan Basha Sheik, Municipal chairman Jogu Premender, BJP leader Payal Shankar and Suhasini Reddy and Hindu Samaj Ustava Samiti president B. Hanumandlu participated in puja programme at Shishumandhir and also in the shoba yatra took out from Vinayak chowk in the Adilabad. The Ganesh idols were immersed in the Penganga river.

On the other hand, the Kumar Janata Ganesh Mandali organisers announced the spot immersion of the 33-foot Ganesh idol by pouring water on the idol, which was installed in Kumarpet in Adilabad town.

The Idol disintegrated on the spot where it was installed instead of taking it to another place for immersion.

It is observed that the number of Ganesh idols installed at pandals increased this year compared to the last two years due to the COVID pandemic restrictions.

However, the Ganesh idols were installed even in small and interior villages this time, and this is an indication that the BJP and its frontal organisations are spreading their wings and their presence and getting strengthened.

It is surprising to see that some of the Adivasi youth have shown interest in installing the Ganesh idols for the first time in their Adivasi gudems in the erstwhile Adilabad district.

Ganesh idol immersion also took place in Indravelli, and Utnoor and Shoba yatras were taken out for the immersion of the Ganesh idols.
