High tension As Police Deny PK's Entry Into Vijayawada to Meet Naidu
Vijayawada: High tension prevailed in Garikapadu Check Post near Andhra Pradesh and Telangana border as the police stopped Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan from entering Vijayawada to meet TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu following his arrest by APCID on Saturday. Though police tried to dissuade Pawan Kalyan from entering Andhra Pradesh citing the possible law and order issues, the actor-turned-politician's convoy proceeded to enter the state. A large number of party supporters also arrived at the check post demanding that PK should be allowed to visit Vijayawada.
Responding to the police action, the Jana Sena chief said, "It looks like we need a visa and passport to enter AP from Telangana.’
Jana Sena political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar who was travelling with Pawan termed the incident as “Very Unfortunate.”
As the police stopped his vehicle, Pawan got down from it and started walking on the road and even lay down on the road in protest against the police action.
This resulted in traffic jam for several kilometers on the national highway causing inconvenience to commuters.
Earlier, Pawan tried to reach Vijayawada by flight, but the the airport authorities denied permission for the aircraft to take off from Begumpet airport citing the instruction from Krishna district police. Krishna SP wrote a letter to the Vijayawada International Airport director not to give permission for the landing of aircraft carrying PK saying that it might cause a gathering of a big crowd of party supporters resulting in serious law and order issues and causing inconvenience to the other passengers.
