Hyderabad: Bikers bid to escape may not help them
Hyderabad: To escape jail, several two-wheeler riders booked for drunk driving have not come back to the respective police stations to pick up their bikes.
Traffic cops have decided to file charge sheets in the court stating the drivers did not turn and seek issuance of arrest warrants against them.
In several cases, traffic cops have also gone to the addresses of the motorists provided at the time of booking a case or what was available with Road Transport Authority (RTAs), submitted at the time of vehicle registration but the culprits were either not available or had changed the place of residence.
“Once arrest warrant is issued, there is strong possibility of a motorist getting enhanced punishment. It is better that they come to the police station and face action as per law,” Traffic Training Institute, inspector G. Hareesh said.
