Harikumar fabricated case against youth, says Crime Branch report
Kollam: A youth from Kollam has come up with a fresh allegation against DySP B. Harikumar who is accused of murdering a youth at Neyyatinkara that a Crime Branch report seeking action against the tainted officer for fabricating a case was sabotaged.
R. Sunil Kumar from Kadambattukonam was arrested in 2015 March based on a false complaint of stealing logs, while Harikumar was the Kadakkal CI. According to Sunil Kumar, Harikumar demanded bribe for excluding him from the charges and was manhandled by the officer after he refused to pay the money.
A complaint regarding this had been filed with the then home minister by Sunil Kumar. Sunil Kumar also alleged that Harikumar had accepted Rs. 25,000 as bribe from his wife using a local goon while he was in jail.
An investigation led by then Crime Branch DySP J. Kishore Kumar had found Harikumar to be guilty and the case was fabricated with forged evidences. A report submitted to the Kollam Rural SP also recommended for Vigilance case against the tainted officer and a departmental inquiry for fabricating the case. No action has been taken against Harikumar even two years after the report was submitted to the home department, it is alleged.
However, the chargesheet on the case against Sunil Kumar has not yet been submitted before the court..
