Hyderabad: The GHMC’s Serilingampally Circles 11 and 12, where Nanakramguda is located, are considered to be a gold mine for the town planning section. It needs high recommendation for anyone to be posted in the “lucrative” zone.
The GHMC and the government get over Rs 600 crore from property and trade tax and registrations in the area which has experienced rapid growth. This is also one of the GHMC wards with the highest land rates.
Serilingampally officials punished
Unauthorised constructions are rampant in Pragathinagar, Puppalguda, Narsingi of Serilingampally. An eight-month long drive against illegal constructions saw 1,800 buildings demolished, a majority of them in this ward. Some of the cases are the following. ACB unearthed assets worth Rs 10 crore from GHMC assistant city planner A. Santosh Venu, who was a city planner at Serilingampally.
The assistant city planner and section officer, Serilingampally Circle 11 were caught red handed by the ACB when they were accepting Rs 2 lakh for sanctioning a building permission.
