Visakhapatnam: The two-day 20th national conference on e-governance concluded here on Tuesday with a call from Union law and Information technology minister P.P. Choudhary to more vigorously push for the cause of Digital India. He noted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is actively pursuing the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this respect. The minister said Mr Naidu has been making good use of the latest technology in providing better services to the people and AP today stood as a role model for other states in this respect. Andhra Pradesh has been rendering 725 e-seva services that will help curtail corruption to a large extent.
He said 8,000 common services have been put up across the country for spreading awareness on latest IT services to 2.50 lakh villages. All the welfare schemes would reach the people instantly through digital service. Prime Minister Modi took the de-cision to demonetise the high value currencies in order to unearth the black money stashed in the country and it has been giving positive results.
Earlier, 86 per cent of the cash was not in circulation and now the money is coming into the banks. The government is also encouraging cashless tra-nsactions through common services in order to check corruption and black money. “There is also huge scope for increasing revenue through income tax. The government has been making serious efforts to strengthen education and health sectors by 2030,” the minister said and added that 3D animation would be introduced in all the schools, colleges and professional colleges to impart high quality education to the students.
State minister for IT and Information Palle Raghunadha Reddy said the AP government was rendering 725 services of 33 departments and once e-pragathi is commissioned, all the services would come under e-seva.
