TRS leader B Rammohan elected GHMC Mayor

TRS scored a thumping history in the recent GHMC elections by winning 99 out of the 150 wards.

Hyderabad: TRS youth wing leader B Rammohan was on Thursday elected unopposed as Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Rammohan was declared elected as Mayor by Hyderabad Collector and presiding officer Rahul Bojja at a meeting of the newly elected corporators of GHMC.

The ruling TRS in Telangana scored a thumping history in the recent GHMC elections by winning 99 out of the 150 wards in the civic body.

The MIM won 44 wards, while the Congress, BJP and TDP suffered a humiliating defeat as they could win only two, four and one wards, respectively.

Rammohan, who won from Cherlapally ward, has been an active leader of TRS youth wing. Baba Fassiuddin, corporator from Borabanda, was elected Deputy Mayor in the elections.
