Hyderabad: Building comes up on land parcel with fake Survey No
Hyderabad: The construction underway on Survey No. 129/68, a prime piece of land on Banjara Hills Road No. 12, has been marked as illegal. The office of the Survey and Land Records, Hyderabad district, has marked Survey No. 129/68 ‘paiki’ fictitious.
Tough the revenue authorities’ periodic reports say that Survey No. 129/68 is non-existent, a co-operative society building is nevertheless coming up on the land which claims to bear the number.
As reported earlier, Kaushik Co-operative Building Society has undertaken construction on the piece of land with the ‘paiki’ Survey No. 129/68.
In a letter, a copy of which is with this newspaper, the deputy director, who was entrusted with the job of inspecting the site and checking its status, said, “I verified the ground status with reference to TSLR records and ward maps and it reveals that Old Survey Number 129/68 paiki is a fictitious number.”
The officer reported: “It does not exist in the Survey and Settlement records of Shaikpet village. Any attempt to re-lay its boundaries at the site will totally upset the legal valid survey framework of the village beside affecting a major chunk of TS No 14,11 and 12 of Block H in Ward 10”.
Another document to substantiate the claim that Survey No. 129/68 is a fictitious number is found in the reply to a query filed under the Right to Information Act to the revenue department. The reply stated: “Such land does not exist.”
The reply to the RTI, a copy of which is in possession of DC, states, “It is informed that as per the revenue records, i.e pahanis of Shaikpet village, the Sy No. 129/68 paiki does not exist, as such the information sought for therein cannot be furnished.”
The case regarding the alleged creation of the fake Survey No. 129/68 dates dates back to 1963, documents show.
According to a source, one Mohd. Moulana allegedly fabricated documents of a survey and created documents for Sy No 129/68 ‘paiki’ for an extent of 15 acres and nine guntas. Sources said Mohd. Moulana entered into an agreement of sale with one V.R.K. Sastri.
The two, V.R.K. Sastri and Mohd. Moulana, filed a specific performance suit and got the same decreed.
According to the documents given to DC, the two persons claiming Survey No. 129/68 paiki assigned their rights to one Vemireddy Narsimha Reddy, who represents the company Kaushik Cooperative Building Society and is also the TRS MP candidate from Nalgonda
It is alleged that Mr Narsimha Reddy with this assigned rights of 129/68 ‘paiki’ allegedly trespassed on Sy No 129/51 and 129/52 situated on Road No. 12 of Banjara Hills.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has clarified that the proposal for construction of the building for the cooperative society at the site submitted by Mr Narsimha Reddy was rejected.
Asked about the building that is coming up on a parcel of land which does not find mention on the government’s land records, a GHMC official told this newspaper: “The action on the unauthorised construction will be taken as per rules.”
