New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the first-ever ‘National Training Conclave’ in India, emphasising the significance of capacity building, breaking down silos, and improving service delivery. The event, held at Pragati Maidan, brought together over 1,500 participants from various training and research institutes across India.

Following the conclave, PM Modi tweeted, “Attended the National Training Conclave today, a part of our efforts to learn and serve better. Highl-ighted the importance of capacity building, ending silos and enhancing service delivery. We shall keep transforming challenges into opportunities for a New India.” An official statement highlighted the PM’s commitment to enhance governance and policy implementation through capacity building within the civil service. In line with this vision, the ‘Mission Karmayogi’ under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building was launched. It aims to equip the civil service with the necessary attitude, skills, and knowledge to adapt to future challenges. The National Training Conclave serves as another significant step towards achieving this objective.

The Capacity Building Commission is hosting the event with the goal of promoting collaboration among civil service training institutes and strengthening the training infrastructure for civil servants nationwide. The conclave includes the participation of civil servants from central government departments, state governments, local governments, as well as experts from the private sector, fostering meaningful deliberations and exchange of ideas.

Through initiatives like the National Training Conclave and ‘Mission Karmayogi,’ the Indian government seeks to build a capable and efficient civil service that can effectively address the evolving needs and demands of a changing India.
