Guntur toilets to get on to Google maps
Guntur: The team from Quality Council of India, New Delhi, inspected the geo-tagged toilets of Guntur Municipal Corporation which would appear on Google maps in Guntur city on Tuesday.
The QCI team, led by Nikhit Gupta and Gour Preet Kour, inspected 30 public toilets, 5 community toilets, 29 toilets in the petrol bunks and 4 toilets in shopping malls and enquired about the facilities and maintenance. They said that GMC commissioner Ch. Anuradha has asked for connecting the GMC toilets to Google maps, according to the norms of Swachh Bharat, and hence the geo-tagging and connecting would be completed in a month.
Ms Anuradha said availability of information about toilets on web, mainly on Google, would be helpful to the local public, visitors and tourists.
She said that GMC working for the total elimination of open defecation hence providing public and community toilets and asked public to make good use of the same.
