Thanga Tamilselvan's aide near Cumbum raided
MADURAI: Income Tax (I-T) officials on Friday searched the house of expelled Andipatti AIADMK MLA Thanga Tamilselvan's aide house at Narayanthevanpatti village near Cumbum on Friday. While the I-T officials' team continued their raids at the premises belonging to Ms. V K Sasikala and her relatives including her husband M Natarajan, brother V K Dhivakaran and nephew TTV Dhinakaran at various places, the official team searched the house of one Kanagaraj, an office assistant to MLA Tamilselvan.
The official team reached his house around 3 pm and interrogated him for few minutes. Then they took him to Tamilselvan's MLA office at Cumbum and searched there for a brief while, said police sources. Kanagaraj was again brought back to his house and officials continued with their raids in the evening hours, which created a flutter among Dhinakaran's supporters in the district. The supporters of Dhinakaran said that Kanagaraj has been working as office assistant for MLA Tamilselvan for many years now, would collect petitions from the public and handed them over to MLA when he visited the town.
Responding to this development, Mr. Tamilselvan told a Tamil magazine that the I-T raid was aimed at damaging the reputation of TTV Dhinkaran and to prevent the AIADMK MLAs' from the opposite camp from joining with them.
