TRS candidates, cadre gear up for intensive campaign
Hyderabad: The TRS is gearing up for an intensive election campaign with party chief and caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao deciding to file his nomination papers on November 14, considered an auspicious day.
Mr Rao on Saturday visited the Divya Saketam, the Jeeyar Integrated Vedic Academy (JIVA) at Shamshabad, and performed pija there. Later, Mr Rao received blessings from Tridanda Srimannarayana Chinna Jeeyar Swami.
Sources in the party said that filing his nomination papers, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao was likely to commence his campaign schedule in the subsequent week. He is keen on covering three to four Assembly segments in a day and interact with the people.
After dissolving the Assembly on September 6, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had said that he would address 100 public meetings during his campaign.
Minister K.T. Rama Rao in his recent interaction with mediapersons said they were planning for Mr Chandrasekhar Rao to cover three segments in a day.
The party is planning to hold a meeting with people who have settled here from Andhra Pradesh and other parts of the country, as was done by Mr Rama Rao during the GHMC elections. Such meetings yielded good results in the civic polls, the party feels.
Sources said that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao was likely to use helicopter to cover all the constituencies in the state besides addressing public meetings in Hyderabad, more particularly in Serilingampally, Kukatpally, Quthbullapur and LB Nagar constituencies.
Sources said that though there was a suggestion from party cadres to conduct a road show to cover Hyderabad city, some senior leaders advised Mr Chandrasekhar Rao to hold public meetings.
The party president will visit the party office on Sunday evening to issue B-forms to TRS candidates. He is expected to instruct the candidates on intensifying their campaign.
Sources disclosed that the party had instructed the 107 nominated candidates to reach the party office with relevant papers as it was mandatory for them to give advertisements in newspapers if they had any pending cases.
The party would issue the advertisements on behalf of the candidates
Before arriving at Telangana Bhavan, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao will interact with TRS activists from his Gajwel constituency.
