P Jayarajan says no to Narco analysis test
KOZHIKODE: CPM Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan on Friday refused to undergo a narco analysis test suggested by the CBI team investigating the Kathirur Manoj murder case.
Mr Jayarajan, who has been undergoing CBI interrogation for the last three days, did not cooperate with the interrogation on Friday and expressed displeasure on many questions. He cited his poor physical condition as a reason for not cooperating with the narco analysis test.
CBI SP Jose Mohan, DySP Hari Om Prakash, circle inspector Salim Sahib and Sub-Inspector K. Sailesh participated in the interrogation. Meanwhile, the Thalassery sessions court extended the judicial custody of Mr Jayarajan to April 8. The remand period was over on Friday. His presence in the court was ensured through teleconferencing.
The counsel of Mr Jayarajan would file a bail petition in the court on Monday. The CBI team also is planning to approach the court seeking custody of Mr Jayarajan at least for one day.
“Without interrogation of the accused in our custody, we will not be able to elicit the answers to our questions,” CBI sources said. Mr Jayarajan was remanded to judicial custody by the court on February 12. He was admitted to the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital (PMCH) and shifted to Kozhikode Medical College later. He was undergoing treatment for cardiac ailments.
