Telangana BJP leaders slam KCR over Dalit empowerment
Hyderabad: BJP leaders on Wednesday called Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao a ‘Dalit Drohi’ (Dalit betrayer).
They said that he had promised that the first Chief Minister will be a Dalit and three acres of land will be given to each Dalit family in the state. The BRS party had promised to build B. R. Ambedkar Vikas Kendras in all mandal headquarters. However, promises stay unfulfilled.
Speaking to reporters here at the BJP state office, BJP state general secretary Bangaru Shruthi, SC Morcha national secretary S. Kumar, SC Morcha state president Koppu Basha, retired IPS officer Krishna Prasad said that Rao had never attended birth or death anniversary of Dr B. R. Ambedkar.
“He does not have any moral right to inaugurate the 125-feet Ambedkar statue in Hyderabad,” they said.
In its poll promise, the leaders added, the BRS said Rs 50,000 crore will be allocated for SCs development.
Now, the party should tell how much has been spent in the last nine years, they added.
The Chief Minister is trying to “satisfy” the Dalits with a 125-feet statue, they said. However, he was not interested in either sharing power or party positions with them, the leaders said.
