Subject-based adalats soon
Kozhikode: The district administration will start issue-based adalats from next month to clear pending files on each subject within the stipulated time, said collector U.V. Jose. A core team already had been formed and they had started scrutinizing files. The first of these adalats would be held in the last week of June, said the collector.
“In the first adalat, housing applications submitted by people would be considered. Those files received until April 30 would be considered and we will
try to close the maximum number of files on the same day. These subject-based adalats would be a permanent system in the district,” said the collector.
The permanent adalats are a step ahead in making the system more people-friendly. The district is already setting up online facilities for the public to keep track of their applications. The facility would start from May 15. By logging on to the e-district website, the person can login and enter the file number to keep track of his complaint filed at the collectorate.
As soon as the person registers a complaint, he/she will get the file number via message and at each stage, they can check the progress of the complaint through the website. The online system has been introduced to clear the backlog of pending files, without using additional manpower.
