India's largest eco-park coming up at Kothwalguda
Hyderabad: The HMDA has invited a request for proposal to build an aquamarine tunnel aquarium and aviary at Kothwalguda eco-park costing ₹300 crore. Spread over 427 acres inside the eco-park, the aquamarine is expected to be the largest in the country.
According to officials, the project will have multiple tunnels featuring a wide variety of marine life including sharks; a restaurant with clear view of exhibits/panel displays, a dome theatre, 7D theatre, virtual aquarium, touch tanks, koi feeding and interactive kiosks for children.
The aqua-park is proposed on a 250,000-sq. ft. built-up area, which can accommodate 2,500 persons. It will have at least 100 metres of curved tunnels and 3.5 metres walkway.
Apart from this, the overall area of the park will be around 105 acres and the project’s estimated cost is ₹55 crore. Some of the components proposed in the park are landscaping, the largest aviary in the country, butterfly park, viewing points, boardwalk of around 2.50 km, adventure zone, suspension bridge to connect the sites across the Outer Ring Road, luxury resort with a mini-convention centre, food courts and restaurants.
According to HMDA officials, the eco-park will have at least 50 units wooden cottages or luxury tents or a combination of these. They will be equivalent to 3-star or above specifications based on the guidelines issued by the Union tourism ministry.
The shortlisted agency should develop various adventure-activities suitable to the site terrain and aimed at targeting young adult visitors and developing innovative activities in addition to zip lining, archery, shooting, high-rope courses, bungee jumping, rock climbing, futsal and multi-activity towers.
