Two more die in Mysuru
Mysuru: Though the rains in Mysuru district have declined, the continuing heavy rains in Wayanad, have increased the inflow into Kabini dam to 65,397 cusecs with the water level standing at 2278 feet as against its capacity of 2284 feet. As much as 71,000 cusecs was released into the river leading to Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
Two more deaths were reported in Mysuru district on Sunday. 35 year old Mubeena Taj died in a wall collapse in Ballenahalli village in Hunsur taluk while the body of a 62 year old man was found at the Kuruburu canal, connected to Kabini reservoir in TNarsipura police station limits. The body has been shifted to KR hospital mortuary in Mysuru and is yet to be identified. With this the death toll in Mysuru district has touched three. As high as 832 houses including 379 houses in Nanjangud and 215 houses in HD Kote taluk have been damaged due to floods.
As many as 2279 people are housed in 28 relief centres. As high as 4749.28 acres of land in HD Kote taluk and 37 acres of land remained submerged due to excess outflow from Kabini reservoir. Several rural roads and bridges continued to remain submerged affecting connectivity.
